Job Responsibilities:
Job responsibilities mainly include but not limited to the following:
? Conducting academic and applied research in directions related to global supply chains or new energy truck applications.
Preferred topics for global supply chains:
- The impacts of tariffs and trade conflicts on certain industries in China, and how Chinese companies responds by adjusting its global supply chain strategy and operations.
- The Antecedents and consequences of specific internationalization modes such as greenfield construction, mergers & acquisitions, cross-border strategic alliances, and “grouping together” to go overseas.
- How Chinese industries/companies achieved glocalization through operations and supply chain innovations.
Preferred topics for new energy truck applications:
- The service ecosystem of new energy trucks in China (including identification of key members of the ecosystem and major cooperation models).
- How to promote the adoption of new energy trucks by logistics companies or shipper companies through multi-party business model innovations in the service ecosystem.
- How to optimize a complex transportation network consisting of new energy trucks and conventional trucks
Expected outputs:
- Academic papers, teaching cases, industry reports, media articles, etc.
? Support teaching activities of the director of the Institute, such as creating pre-reading materials, PPT, etc.
? Support knowledge dissemination activities of the Institute, such as industry forums and seminars, company visits, etc.
? Other supportive activities if in need.
Job Requirements:
? Strong interest in academic/applied research driven by real-world problems and data from companies.
? PHD degree in related fields (operations & supply chain management, international business, service & business model innovations, etc.)
Note: Part-time positions are open to doctoral students.
? Proven abilities in research and professional writing
? Ability to understand both academic research paper and business practice articles without barriers and be able to “bridge” them to create insights.
? Excellent interpersonal communication skills and the ability to communicate with both academics and industry professionals.
? Able to commit for at least 1 year.
